Mamma Mia! Here We Get Again took ten years to go far, but that's OK. The original has had fourth dimension to exhale and to mature, the bandage time to gracefully age a piffling, and after all, ABBA never gets old or goes out of manner. The time feels right, and Here Nosotros Go Again delights. The pic is built around paralleling stories, one set now, ten years after the original, and it's besides brindled with fun and compelling flashback sequences that accept viewers back to the late 1970s, where they tin become to know the characters all once more and, yup, savor more takes on ABBA'south greatest hits. It's not necessarily superior to the original, but it'southward a delightful complimentary addition that manages to reuse the same soundtrack in an entirely different way.

Mamma Mia! Here We Become Over again was reportedly digitally photographed at a resolution of ii.8K and finished at 2K. The moving-picture show radiates off the screen in upscaled 4K, giving off an impeccably clear, bright, vivid, colorful, and finely appointed paradigm that takes the wonderful underlying qualities of the splendid Blu-ray and tightens the image, often considerably, from the top to lesser. The movie is richly textured and abundantly colorful in well-nigh every scene; fifty-fifty sourced from an upscaled DI, the UHD format'south benefits are obvious throughout. Clarity is extremely high, and the resultant boost in textural intimacy and sharpness cannot be missed. Expanded definition of skin, clothes (especially woven straw hats), roughhewn environmental details, even large-calibration elements like water and grasses enjoy an effortless visual complexity. Dissonance is refined and not particularly intrusive, even across some darker backgrounds or lower-light locales. Other source or encode issues are substantially nonexistent.
Colors are just as much of a highlight. The Dolby Vision presentation offers a brilliantly refined palette that gives merely every bit much attention to detail and vividness to loud, assuming colors as it does less dynamic, but no less critical, earthy backgrounds or otherwise would-be flat or banal colors. Certainly more than colorful attire, rich blue ocean waters and deep blue skies, and intensely colored and finely nuanced natural greens are amongst the seemingly ever-present highlights, but pay attention to simpler backgrounds and essential hues that are given just every bit much a say in the visual shape of whatsoever given scene equally the loudest primaries. Black levels are impeccably deep and detailed with nary a hint of trounce or gray push. Whites are noticeably more well-baked and brilliant compared to the Blu-ray, where they're a fleck more flat and less dynamic. The increases in brightness, saturation, and color dash certainly help tighten up the image, and combined with the added upscaled resolution and dramatic increment in clarity and the disc is a winner, on its own and definitely over the Blu-ray.
